Tool belts enable you to carry more tools than you can carry in your hands and you have them ready whenever you need them. There are many type of belts available for various jobs. For example, you can buy a carpenter or an electrician’s or plumber’s tool belt and many others.

What can be carried in belts?

Tool belts are designed to carry small and large tools. There are even small pouches for pencils and a place for hanging a measuring tape. There is usually a holster for a hammer and a place for the chisel. Typical belts also have compartments for nails, so that you don’t constantly have to be bending down to get a handful and stuff them in your pockets. When you are working from a ladder or scaffolding, they make the job seem easier.

Different types available

Belts are made from different types of material. Many carpenters choose to have leather tool belts. The one you choose should be comfortable as well as durable. Leather once are made of thick cowhide and have double stitching. They often require softening to make them easier to wear, similar to leather tool bags. This can be done by using oil for baseball mitts to soften the edges. Some leather tool belts have the added attraction of allowing you to slide on different attachments, depending on the job you are doing.

Occidental manufactures carpenters belts made from flexible leather and Cordura nylon. These kind of leather belt is large in size allowing the worker to carry a variety of tools. It has some of the largest pouches found in the line of carpenter belts on the market. Measuring tapes, pencils and different tools all have their own pouch, so that the carpenter doesn’t have to look for the right tool, once he/she gets used to the layout of the belt.

Craftsman Tool Belt Range

Craftsman tool belts are made from oil-tanned supple leather that have permanently fixed pouches as well as two hammer holsters. The pouches are steel riveted and double stitched to a two inch belt. It also contains two 8 inch deep pouches and two 4 inch pouches for smaller tools. Carpenters find that in order to their work fast and efficiently, they need excellent belts and often go for the craftsman once..
