Electric chain saws trim smaller trees

Electric chain saws on the market are still the most affordable choice in a reliable sawing tool for general use and light duty projects around your house. Gas-operated chain saws tout more powerful engines and the freedom from electrical cords. But these heavyweight gas guzzlers are quite often a great deal more money, with the probability of even more costs in servicing due to their higher maintenance, so for the amount of strength they offer – the kind of power that you may never use at all – consider your needs carefully.

Electric chain saw pros and cons

Here are a few facts about electrically-powered saws that you should think about before making your final purchase. An electric chain saw does provide lesser power, which means your sawing time will be longer. Electrics are also unable to cut or buck large trees, but they are considered perfect for trimming smaller trees or for pruning purposes. Most electric models offer tethering to a 100-foot power cord, and because they are much lighter weight, this increases the portability of the machine. They also typically require less servicing and can be much cheaper in price.

Mcculloch electric chain saw – voted best moderately priced electric chain saw

The McCulloch MS1640 is recommended for trimming any size of tree branch and for cutting smaller to medium-sized trees. Its 16” bar length can cut through a long up to 32” in diameter, and it comes with an automatic oiler that consistently lubricates the bar and chain. This Mcculloch electric chain saw is a lightweight designed unit weighing in at just over seven pounds, and it comes in its own carrying case.

Electric chain saws provide the kind of power that is very suitable for those middle of the road-strength outdoor projects, but sometimes you won’t even require that much power in your sawing unit. There are battery powered chain saw tools for sale online, including a ‘pruning chainsaw’ with a light duty motor powered by a rechargeable battery. These battery powered chain saw models generally come equipped with at least a 3-5 hour charger and adapter unit.

So, you’ve got plenty to go on when selecting the power sawing tools that will be just right for the various outdoor tasks and woodworking projects you have on the go. What’s at the top of your must-have list? Electric chain saws!
