the town of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania where it
was founded by Joe Hardy in 1956, 84 Lumber Company
is a privately held supplier of building materials.
They have over 450 store locations in 34 U.S. states.
In 1998, they began shipping their products overseas.
The
company, which states that it is the number
one ranked supplier of building materials
to professional contractors, is currently run
by President, Maggie Hardy-Magerko, Joe Hardy’s
daughter. She has been active in the family
business from a young age and has been responsible
for some recent changes and innovations including
a new store design that includes a hardware
store and showroom, featuring an expanded
line of plumbing, electrical, hardware, paint
and sundries.
The company offers a wide variety of wood products
including plywood, trim, moulding, and engineered
lumber. In addition customers can purchase just
about any type of building material including
roofing and flooring products, drywall, siding,
kitchen and bath materials, doors, windows, and
complete prefabricated garages, sheds, and home
packages. Blueprints, custom design assistance,
