The
Fein Company was founded in 1867 by 25-year
old German entrepreneur Wilhelm Emil Fein and
his brother Carl. The group experienced rapid
growth over the next several decades and in 1908,
Wilhelm Fein’s son Emil made a decision
to focus on one area of production, and the company
became one of the first specialty manufacturers
of power tools.
Today, the Fein Company retains close ties with
the descendants of the founding family, and has
grown considerably in size and includes subsidiaries
in Switzerland, Great Britain, France, Canada,
South Africa, Australia, and several other countries
around the world.
FEIN is involved in all aspects of production
on its line of power tools, building not only
the motors, but also the housings, shafts, gearwheels,
electronic elements and handles. They even assisted
in the development of the machinery used in their
manufacturing facilities. They feel this overall
involvement and monitoring of production helps
ensure the highest possible product quality.
Some
of the more popular items in the company’s
line of over 200 power tools includes screw guns,
self-drilling screwdrivers, pip sanders, construction
cutters, and the MultiMaster and HandyMaster
combination tools.
