Freud Company is an Italian-based producer
of power tools and construction woodworking
equipment and accessories. The company
produces its own steel used in its specially
formulated MicroGrain Carbide, found in all
Freud bits and blades. They have also developed
a technology called Perma-SHIELD® Permanent
Non-stick Coating which reduces friction, heat
build-up, gumming and corrosion. Each blade
and bit is coated with PermaSHIELD to help
in performance and to enhance product life.
Freud
offers a variety of different products including
professional and industrial saw blades, Dado
heads, router bits, Forstner bits, boring bits,
shaper cutters, planer and jointer knives,
and other power and hand tools. Their router
bit selection alone includes over 100 choices,
giving woodworkers options such as spiraling,
beading, keyholing, lettering, cove and joining
cuts and many more applications. They also
a series of six different saw blades including
the popular Diablo Contractor series.
