The Hegner
Company, which was established less
than 50 years ago, has quickly earned an international
reputation for producing some of the finest woodworking
saws and lathes available. Beginning with their
introduction of the first modern machine fretsaw/
scrollsaw over 30 years ago, they have continued
to add to their product line through a series
of innovations and expansions.
Today Hegner manufactures a wide range of woodworking
machines in their factory in Schwenningen in
the Black Forest region of Germany. Other products
include comb jointers, disc sanders, belt sanders,
dust extractors, fret saws, a fingerjoint machine,
woodworking accessories, and a universal workshop
system.
Their
line of scroll saws incorporate Hegner’s "Dual
Dynamic Tensioning" which makes setup and
adjustments easier and quicker. It is even possible
to adjust tension with the saw running at full
speed. There is also a QuickLock Tension Release
System on the two most popular models, the 18" and
22" saws. And the company reports that they
are the only manufacturer to offer a fully slotted
table for fast blade changing and easy inside
cuts.
