Henry
Taylor began making Acorn tools back in
1834. The company founder took great pride in
craftsmanship and superior materials, and his
ideas and traditions continue today. The company
hand forges their tools from only the best quality
steel, and employs advanced heat treatment to
help increase tool quality, performance, and
tool life. Many of the items in their line of
over 170 high speed, steel, turning tools are
designed by famous woodworkers who know what
professionals and serious hobbyists want in a
tool. Carbon steel tool are also available.
Products
include specialized scrapers, parting tools,
curved skews, gouges, and beading tools. Mini
turning tools for smaller work such as goblets
and jewelry are also available. Although the
company divides their tools into one line for
professionals and another for amateurs, the only
differences in the products is that the professional
line has longer blades and more styles to choose
from. One of the company’s most popular
brands of tools is the Diamic woodturning tools.
Henry Taylor tools cost more than other tools,
but many feel the higher price reflects the higher
quality and craftsmanship.
