The Leigh company was founded in 1981 in Quesnel,
British Columbia. Quesnel is a small logging
and saw milling town in Canada. Ken Grisley,
the president of Leigh Industries, was unhappy
with hand cutting dovetails and current dovetail
jigs on the market. He, along with his wife,
decided to create a dovetail jig that worked
for their needs.
The Leigh dovetail jig created by Leigh Industries
was a big hit in Canada and the United States.
Over the years, Leigh has continued to grow and
improve and create more joinery jigs. In 2003,
Leigh moved to a bigger building that even includes
a showroom for gallery items.
