Using air compressor accessories with your compressor

Air compressor tools offer power and convenience

Excellent accessories can turn your portable or stationary compressor into a powerful multi tool by adding new functionality and features. You can also use these accessories to keep your compressor at its peak performance by doing regular maintenance and servicing. New air tools can also change the way you work and can save you storage space when compared with bulky corded power tools. A look at some of the accessories available for your compressor will show how purchasing just a few new accessories can allow you to use your compressor for a whole new variety of tasks.

Compressor accessories that increase versatility

There are many different compressor accessories available that can increase the versatility of your air compressors. One of the most basic accessory upgrades is also one of the most inexpensive; by purchasing a longer air hose for your compressor you can increase your efficiency by decreasing the number of times you have to move your portable compressor, or expand the range of your stationary compressor. This can be especially beneficial if you are using your compressor with a paint sprayer to paint the exterior or interior of your house.

Another basic but useful upgrade is buying a larger compressed air tank for your compressor. With a larger tank, you can effectively increase the power of your compressor by making it possible to work longer with tools like air sprayers before running out of air.

Air compressor tools

The recent increase in popularity of air tools has meant that there are many new air compressor tools to choose from. While you could once only choose from impact wrenches and nailers you can now choose from a wide variety of air compressor tools, including air powered sanders, saws, and paint sprayers. Because these tools do not require bulky motors, they are often easier to store than electric tools – and having these tools in your shop means you can pack your electric tools into their cases, ready to be taken to a job site.

Air compressor oil

Unless you choose an oilless air compressor you should also keep a supply of air compressor oil on hand to ensure your machine is always properly lubricated. Most manufacturers recommend a specific oil for their compressor models, so be sure to check your user manual or the company's website to make sure you purchase the correct weight and grade of this most important of all accessories.
