Emglo
compressors are known all over the world
for their blue color and their efficiency. Emglo
compressors are compact units that are easily
carried from one place to another. They are built
to take the abuse of being in the back of a
truck as users carry them to different job
sites.
With
an Emglo air compressor, the entire motor assembly
is shock mounted on a tubular base. There are
holes pre-drilled in the base, should you decide
that you prefer the unit to be
stationary. All the connections between the
tank and the motor are flexible allowing for
the movement of the compressor when it is in
operation. Items that can be easily broken,
such as the pressure gauge and the main hose
connection are inside the unit. These are protected
by the bulk of the motor, so that they won’t
get knocked off when the compressor is being
carried around. The Emglo air compressors do
not have as much vibrations as other compressors
do.
However,
you do need a 20-amp service in order to get
the compressors running. They do require a
fair amount of electricity to get started.
Once it is started, it can easily run other
power tools, but it needs to be started up
without anything else running off it.
Maintenance of the Emglo air compressors
Since
this type of compressor is oil lubricated,
it does require periodic oil changes. These
are not difficult to do since the drain plug
and dipstick are easy to reach. A pressure
relief valve and two drain valves let you easily
drain any accumulated water. Made
of cast iron, they are designed for rugged
use and are long lasting. Every Emglo air compressor
is pre-wired and tested before it leaves the
plant. They can be either electric powered
or gas powered and
there is a range of compressors available in
each category.
Dewalt – Emglo
Air compressors
In
2000, Dewalt acquired the Emglo
company. Since
then the compressors have become known as Dewalt
Emglo compressors.
