Industrial Flooring Must Withstand Abuse

Industrial flooring has a number of special requirements. Consequently, it comes in a variety of forms. Materials as simple as a finish coat for concrete to rubber to hardwood floors all make up the market segment called industrial flooring.

It includes epoxy materials from concrete finishing to decorative as well as functional epoxy materials. This category of flooring includes rubber mats, laminate floors, tile and blocks. Industrial floor is generally much more durable than home flooring because it must hold up under much greater stress. This includes the weight of machinery, the wear of high traffic areas and the effects of materials spills. Much of the choice of this type of flooring is dictated by the way in which it will be used.

One of the most durable products is epoxy industrial flooring. The advantages of epoxy are that it works as a form of coating, enforcing more strength. It is very resistant and can be formulated for unique applications as well as specific safety needs. Epoxies can be applied to create seamless floors. Epoxies are versatile. Epoxy materials can be used to cover existing concrete floors or used as a base for stone or other materials.

Wide Variety Of Epoxy Industrial Floor Formulas

There are a tremendous variety of epoxy materials available. These include everything from coatings and toppings for existing floors, floor primers, complete flooring systems, accessories and fillers and floor sealers. It is easy to find out where to buy flooring for industry applications. Contractors have a number of sources. These include industrial supply houses, floor wholesalers, lumber yards, building supply centres, home improvement centres and Internet e-tailers.

The first step in selecting floors is to determine how it will be used and what qualities it will need. Companies manufacturing industrial flooring have a wealth of information online, including lists of dealers that sell and install their product.
