A
Proud History
Thomas
Armstrong started his two-man cork cutting
company in 1860 near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
He soon moved the company to Lancaster, Pennsylvania
and remained in the cork cutting business
for the next 40 years. As that business changed,
Armstrong changed with it, finding new and
different uses for its products. The company
sold cork as insulation and as brick. Linoleum was introduced in 1909. Today the company
has worldwide sales of more than $3 billion
with more than 44 manufacturing plans in a
dozen countries that employ more than 16,000
people.
Contractors
and do-it-yourselfers seeking information about
Armstrong and looking for where to buy Armstrong
flooring can find it easily. Virtually every
home improvement store, lumber yard, department
store with a home improvement department and
industrial supply store will offer Armstrong
products and floor care supplies. E-tailers
on the Internet also offer the expansive family
of Armstrong floors including discount
deals.
Armstrong
is recognized as one of the leading
flooring companies around the world. Building
on Thomas Armstrong’s philosophy
of “let the buyer have faith,” the
company has built a reputation of top quality
products and outstanding customer service.
