Makita USA released the new, immense capacity KP312 - 12-1/4" hand-held planer. Combined with a 12-1/4" cutting width, 0-1/8"adjustable depth and 15AMP motor, the Makita planer KP312 is ideally suited to meet the tough demands of timberframing professionals and other building trades.

Guaranteeing superior accuracy across the entire base of the tool, the Makita planer KP312 has a precision-machined aluminum base and a near-perfect center of gravity. A front guide roller is strategically placed to allow for smooth, easy and repeated planing on any type of wood. Adjustable metal guide plates are also incorporated to ensure accurate and consistent results. The Makita planer KP312 is extremely efficient with a large ejection chute for a high rate of chip discharge, which prevents clogs with wet or dry wood, and a lock-on button for continuous operation.

The Makita planer KP312 has many great features that enhance its ergonomics and comfort such as a large rubberized front handle for comfort, control and reduced operator fatigue. The planer also includes a large foot at the back of the base that helps protect the high-speed steel blades from unwanted contact with work surface when not in use. An elevated cord location keeps the cord of the planer conveniently out of the way with repeated passes and a 33-foot cord reduces the need for an extension cord.
