Importance of lumber grader

 
   


Lumber grader has the job of marking and grading the every wood piled in a lumberyard. By grading, it doesn’t means to pass or fail the lumber it is simply an attempt to determine its utility whether it should be used for building the dining table or is simply good enough for toothpicks. For lumber graders it is a whole body experience and not related to one or two sense organs, it requires head for figures, sharp brain, good eyes and strong pair of leg and hand. Lumber graders are required to be vigilant and have complete information about the types and various species of the lumber.

The knowledge along with calculations and statistics and various other measurement tools are used for the correct assessment of the length and defect-free area of the wood by graders. Different companies have different standards and specifications for grading the wood and considering this lumber graders inspect and grade lumber.
