Firewood processors can cost you a fair amount of money so be sure that you know how to operate the machine before you spend money and time purchasing one.

How to cut firewood

Learning how to cut firewood is easy when you have a splitter or a processor to give you a hand and simplify the job. You’ll be able to cut the wood to diameters of anywhere from 25 centimetres to 50 centimetres. A processor is extremely simple to operate and consists of parts that include a circle or chain saw, infeed conveyors, and splitter heads. Keep your processor in good running order by regularly checking the sharpness of the chain and the spinning of the splitter heads. All processors and splitters should come with a good warranty for parts and services. If a warranty isn’t included you should consider looking for tool that does.

Wood splitting

No matter what type of splitter or processor that you buy you can rest assured that these tools will make it easy and convenient for you to handle wood. There are several well known manufacturers of splitters that you can rely on, such as Massey Ferguson and Splitez. Buying from a reputable and reliable dealer ensures that you’re getting a quality tool. You can check out prices on the internet just for comparison but you most likely won’t want to purchase off the internet unless the shipping costs are minimal. Your best bet is to contact a dealer in your local area for advice and information about what type of splitters to buy.

Cutting wood by hand is alright if you don’t have a lot of wood that you need to cut. But for those times that you have a lot of wood to process in a short amount of time you’ll want to think about buying one of many firewood processors.
