A Makita
battery stands for power. Makita Tools
was one of the first companies to pioneer cordless
tool technology. Even the Makita battery has
all the benefits of Makita's continuous research
and development in the cordless tool field. The
latest battery charging systems use complex
computer technology to ensure that the Makita
battery is only charged as much as it has to
be.
The
result is that the life of your cordless tool
batteries can be extended for many years when
compared with early cordless tool battery technology.
Makita's battery development has been remarkable.
An early battery used a Nickel-Cadmium
pile, which would have to be carefully monitored
to ensure proper charging. The early Ni-Cad
technology required that the battery be fully
discharged before charging for longer battery
life. Additionally, the Makita battery could
only be charged for a certain period of time.
While some Makita batteries still use NiCad,
improved charging and battery technology has
extended the power and life of a NiCad battery.
Other Makita batteries use Nickel-Metal Hydride
technology, which provides even more flexibility.
Two of the battery systems include the Makita
batteries 1433 (NiMH) and the Makita 9000 battery
(NiCad)
Makita batteries 1433
Makita
batteries 1433 use Makita's latest battery
technology, MAKSTAR, to provide 2200 mAh of power
from a NiMh pile. This Makita battery fits all
Makita 14.4 volt cordless tools and comes with
a forced air induction system to keep the battery
cool, extending battery life. It also comes with
multiple contact points to ensure smooth power
delivery even during the toughest of jobs.
Makita 9000 battery
The
Makita 9000 battery is a "stick" style
battery, because it fits into the handle of a
9.6 volt drill or flashlight. While the battery
uses an older style NiCad pile, it is one of
the least expensive replacement batteries on
the market. Its 1500 mAh of power is enough to
provide for long usage between charging.
As an industry leader, Makita cordless tools
have been popular for many years. For this reason,
woodworkers of all stripes equate power and long
life with the Makita battery.
