The
Panel Saw Is Commonly Found In Lumberyards.
The panel saw is a single purpose saw. It is
designed to cut sheets of engineered wood stock,
such as interior wall panelling, plywood, particle
board and other engineered wood stock. The
saw is made to hold the 4’ X 8’ or
4’ X 12’ sheets of stock and then
cut along the 4’ edge. These saws are
often found in lumberyards and home improvement
centers that sell smaller sized sheets of engineered
wood.
The lumber yard is not the only play to find
panel saws. Contractors who work with engineered
wood sheets will have portable panel saws to
make their work easier. These saws can be taken
from job site to job site as needed.
Mitre
Saws Are Most Versatile Saw On Job Site
That
same job site will probably have mitre
saws to cut all of the dimension lumber, moulding
and trim materials. The mitre saw can cut
just about everything except the sheets of
engineered wood. Radial
arm saws have their use back at the workshop.
There is great versatility with the cuts you
can make with the radial arm saw. This includes
mitre cuts.
The panel saw is a single purpose saw. While
it is not a saw that the DIY or home hobbyist
would be likely to have, it is a valuable tool
for contractors who build with engineered wood.
