The new Mafell DD40 Duo-Dowel System
The
DD40 Duo-Dowel System manufactured by MAFELL, the machine builder domiciled
in Oberndorf in the south of Germany, represents a world innovation in
portable fastening technology. It enables woodworkers to make joints faster,
with greater precision and less expensively than before.
According
to MAFELL, the new DD40 Duo-Dowel System will revolutionize portable joining
in the woodworking trade. With an entirely new power tool and extensive
accessories, MAFELL is offering tradesmen a genuine alternative to all
existing systems.
The unique
joining technique is based on the use of conventional wooden dowels in
combination with the handy DD40 Duo-Doweler.The novel electric tool provides
the craftsman with numerous joint angles and adjustment options for absolutely
precise drilling. Torsionally rigid fastening and fixing in two directions
with two inexpensive wooden dowels per operation allows assembly without
any additional clamps, and the joint can be released again at any time
before gluing. Woodworkers can pre-assemble shelves or fitted furniture
in the workshop, for example, dismantle them for transportation and carry
out final assembly on site.
This practical
procedure saves both time and money. The core component of the DD40 Duo-Doweler
is the 600 Watt electric motor built by MAFELL. It drives the two special
drills through a gearbox. As with all MAFELL products, the design engineers
focused on ergonomics: weighing only 2.8 kg (6,2 lbs) this is an easy machine
to work with.
The standard
version of the DD40 is equipped with 8 mm drill bits, but a variety of
sizes is available from 5 mm up to a maximum of 12 mm. The DD40 is also
tidy thanks to one of MAFELL's distinguishing features: extraction of the
dust by suction.MAFELL offers a range of extensive accessories to make
the DD40 a full-spec system. It is available to craftsmen in the practical
MAFELL MAX case containing MAFELL wood dowels, special drill bits, anti-slip
mats and a glue bottle with a special nozzle.
