Band Saw Blades Make Smooth High Speed Cuts

Band Saw Blades Are Long Circular Bands Of Steel

Band saw blades are made for a variety of tasks. These long circular bands of steel have teeth cut into one edge. As the blade is pulled over wheels at the top and the bottom of the saw, the teeth make the desired cuts. The blades can be used to cut straight lines or to cut small radius curves and everything in between. How the blade is made determines its use. Band saw blades can be wide or narrow, have few teeth per inch (coarse) for many teeth per inch (fine). The angle or set of the teeth also determine how the blade will cut.

Delta band saw blades are made to cut a wide range of materials including wood, steel, tool steel, plastics and exotic alloys. These blades are made from steel, carbide and carbon tipped steel.

The portable band saw is a smaller version of the stationary saw. The portable band saw is handheld and can be used for cutting small pieces of wood, pipe, plastics an similar materials. While it will not take the load of a stationary band saw, it is useful around the shop and on the job site. A bench vice accessory can make it a small stationary saw.

The Dewalt Portable Band Saw Has Job Site Features

The dewalt portable band saw is a lightweight, balanced handheld power tool that is great for the job site. It has a 4-3/4 inch deep cutting capacity so that it can be used to cut square stock. The ergonomically designed soft rubber handles reduce operator fatigue. The saw comes with a built in hook to make it easy to hang on the job site, protecting it from damage.

Band saw blades come with different tooth designs in addition to the number and set of the teeth. These designs include the regular tooth used for smooth cutting wood. There is also the hook tooth and skip tooth band saw blades.
