Woodworking Books - Routing
Woodworking With the Router Professional Router Techniques and Jigs Any Woodworker Can Use
by Bill Hylton, Fred Matlack
On over 340 pages this is one of these woodworking books you should have if you want to get the most out of a router. Bill Hylton and Fred Matlack have put together what it takes to use this versatile woodworking tool at its best:
- How to use a router for different types of cuts
- Basic knowledge of routers and routing techniques
- Excellent woodworking plans for a cabinet router table and fence
- Detailed plans on useful jigs and bit storage boxes
- Very well illustrated with photos and clear illustrations
For many time now, this book has been among the best selling woodworking books at amazon. I think this is the best of the router books currently available.
The New Router Handbook
by Patrick Spielman, Carol Reed
Reviewing woodworking books can sometimes be a pain and sometimes be a pleasure. Patrick Spielman and Carol Reeds New Router Handbook is simply the mother of all router woodworking books. With over 380 pages and over 1000 photos and illustrations it was my first book on routing I ever bought.
One of the most higly recommendable woodworking books!
Router Magic: Jigs, Fixtures, and Tricks to Unlease Your Router
by Bill Hylton
Writing a follow-up book to his successful woodworking book "Woodworking With the Router" Bill Hylton focused in Router Magic more on jigs and plans how to build them. Looking on both woodworking books I find it too hard to judge which I liked more. Router Magic favours the "hands on" type of router user (like me), while woodworking with the router supports the woodworking beginner a little bit more with general router explanations.

The Bandsaw Book by Lonnie Bird This is one of these woodworking books for those of you who think they know all about a bandsaw or even worth their is not much you need to know about a band saw. When I first looked at the book, I must admit I also belonged to this bunch of woodworker who think they do not need woodworking books on band saws. But what Lonnie Bird put into this 208 page machinery book is just excellent stuff. Details about blade choices, blade teeth, how to set up a bandsaw correctly and what to look for when you buy a new one. With full color photos the author suggests many tiny and major improvements to your bandsaw. So, a very good read for all those experts who thought the do not need woodworking books. | The Table Saw Book by Kelly Mehler A good woodworking books section in a website must contain a good book about table saws. So I asked some friends and have been convinced to get my hands on Kelly Mehler's Table Saw Book. In over 200 pages the author illustrates in a very much hands-on fashion all details about a table saw. From use like rip-cut or cross-cut, maintenance, jigs and accessories like saw blades. This book is definatly written by and for professionals - an excellent woodworking book. | Woodworking Books - Furniture Making |
