Cordless Drill Batteries Provide Flexible Power

Update:  please find our recent cordless drill batteries review article here.

Cordless drill batteries have developed rapidly over the past 20 years. While early cordless drills were sometimes lacking in power and had relatively short lifespans, today’s batteries utilize the latest in charging materials and technology to provide short charging times, long battery life, and maximum power output. When cordless drills were first introduced, cordless drill batteries typically used Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) batteries. These batteries were based on recharging technology that was nearly 50 years old, and today’s NiCad batteries offer more power and better stamina thanks largely to the efforts of cordless tool manufacturers. Makita, Ryobi, Black and Decker, and DeWalt are three industry leaders in cordless drill battery technology, and a look at each manufacturers product line will help to explain many facets of cordless drill batteries.

Dewalt

Each of these DeWalt cordless drills use batteries that are interchangeable with other DeWalt cordless tools, so that only a single charger is required for tools of the same voltage.

DeWalt has recently introduced the XRP battery line. These new batteries utilize a three stage charging system. After one hour of charging, the battery is ready for use. Three hours of charging will ensure that each cell in the battery has been fully charged, and following this the charger will maintain the battery with minimal trickles, thus preventing overcharging.

Black And Decker Batteries
Black and Decker batteries also come in a variety of sizes and power levels. With Black and Decker’s proven reputation as a tool manufacturer, you can be sure that a Black and Decker battery will provide the power you need to complete your do it yourself project.

Ryobi Cordless Drill Battery

Ryobi cordless drill batteries are also interchangeable with other Ryobi cordless tools, which can extend your working time with all the tools in your tool shed.

Buying a cordless drill can be a challenging task because of the many manufacturers producing these useful tools. By examining battery technology offered by different manufacturers you can be assured of getting the most powerful cordless drill batteries.
