The Bosch 1590 EVSK jigsaw review has certainly been one of the more extensive tests we ran, especially during our large jigsaw review series. Bosch has long been the leader in new features for the jigsaw. The top handle 1590 EVSK model is there no different.
With its precision blade guide system, the jigsaw blade is literally firmly guided from behind, to guarantee a straight cut and assures that the blade will not wander around.
Additionally, the effective quick blade system allows to a change of a jigsaw blade within seconds by just pulling over a lever. The blade is held firmly without any need of an screwdriver or allen key to fix it.
Power and Cutting Performance of the Bosch 1590 EVSK Jigsaw
The 1590 is designed with a 6.4 A motor and variable speed control, allowing a no load speed of 500 to 2800 strokes per minute. According to Bosch, the stroke length is about 1″ or (25mm), which is more than enough for fast – heavy duty – cuts into thick wood.
In our tests we cut through 4 inch pine and oak wood, using extra long T-shank Bosch jigsaw blades. The power tool accomplished these cuts with ease. The 1590 EVSK has been designed with an electronic speed control that keeps the motor at a constant speed, even under a heavy workload. Not much heat increase was noted. A real power horse!
Speed of Cut and Precision
The Bosch four step orbital movement guarantees a high cutting rate, especially for rough cuts into wood. Together with all the features, there is a very convenient mini dust blower, which keeps the cutting line clear of chips and debris. The jigsaw handled fast cuts extremely well.
Additionally the jigsaw comes with an easy bevel adjustment enabled with a small lever. There again, no further screwdriver or wrench needed to switch to bevel cuts.
Vibration and Ergonomics
Of all our tested jigsaws, this Bosch jigsaw was the one with the least vibrations. Bosch has managed to counterbalance the jigsaw so well that even during heavy cuts there is hardly any vibration. The top handle on the 1590 Bosch jigsaw comes with some soft rubber – grip – inlays. Give you a good feel on the tool and prevent slipping.

The Bosch 1590 EVSK jigsaw is definitely a 5 star woodworking power tool. Excellent in precision and speed, with all important features such as quick blade change and rear blade guiding. Even the street price of around $160 is not questionable for such a professional jigsaw.
